Katinka is a research scientist with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) and Kings Park Science.

Her interests include the ecological and risk implications of fire return intervals, climate change impacts on forest health, plant-animal interactions, improving the regeneration capacity of woodlands and forests and improving the success of rehabilitation of degraded ecosystems such as disused mine-sites.
