Dr Cindy Hauser

The University of Melbourne

Cindy Hauser is a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. She is affiliated with the Quantitative & Applied Ecology Group, the Centre of Excellence for Biosecurity Risk Analysis, and the Moore Plant Ecology & Conservation Group at Monash University.

Cindy develops tools for environmental management that account for uncertainty, incomplete knowledge and scarce data. She's particularly interested in monitoring and survey design, and adaptive management.

Recently Cindy has applied these concepts to:

  • A hawkweed surveillance program utilising human and canine searchers
  • Adaptive management of the iconic malleefowl
  • Adaptive management of pine-buloke vegetation under grazing pressure.
